Contact & pilot

Let’s start with your shelves.

Tell us which category you work in, how your team checks shelves today and what you would like to improve. We will use that context to shape an initial walkthrough and pilot discussion.

How the pilot works

Agree the scope

Select the category, catalogue, sample stores and shelf conditions to include.

Define success

Agree how recognition quality, shelf measurements, service levels for both results and field effort will be evaluated.

Review the evidence

Compare Pharos output with independently checked shelf records, inspect errors and decide whether to expand.

Frequently asked questions

Can Pharos distinguish similar products?

Similar-looking variants are a central focus of Pharos’s pharmacy and beauty approach. Your pilot tests the shades, strengths and pack sizes in your catalogue under representative shelf conditions.

Does a missing product mean the store is out of stock?

No. A product not detected in the captured shelf area may still be elsewhere in the store. The finding supports a placement or replenishment check.

Can we correct a result?

Yes. A reviewer can mark a match wrong and choose the correct product from a ranked candidate list, or add a visible pack that was missed. The original result is kept, and every correction records who made it, why and when.

Does Pharos monitor shelves continuously?

No. Pharos works from photos captured during store visits. It is not continuous, autonomous shelf monitoring, and it never treats an area that was not photographed as empty.

How quickly do results arrive?

Each visit produces two results. The store visit result arrives within 5 to 15 minutes of an accepted submission, depending on your service tier, so the team can act during the visit. The full category result completes within 8 hours to 30 days, again by tier. Both update the same visit record, and the pilot measures them under representative conditions.

How is share of shelf measured?

We agree the measurement basis for your rollout—for example, share of visible facings within a defined fixture or category. Comparisons need consistent boundaries and measurement rules.

What happens when packaging changes?

Recognition is designed to tolerate minor changes such as offer stickers or small visual updates, where the pack’s identity stays clear. When a change materially affects visual identity, wording, pack size, variant distinction or regulatory presentation, a small reference-pack update and targeted validation are needed.

What do we need to get started?

Start with your category, product list and the merchandising rules you want to check, including any POSM and your sales-cycle calendar. We will agree catalogue and image requirements while scoping the pilot.

Can Pharos fit our data requirements?

Pharos can run on your own infrastructure or on dedicated servers operated by Pharos, with cloud capacity only for workloads your policy allows. Share your processing, storage and access requirements during scoping, and we will review the proposed setup before agreeing the rollout.
